June 2, 2011 Corruption: From personal experience , The Government Department assigned with responsibility of road maintained in the Jaipur city are somewhat baffled by good quality of the concrete road built using the latest technology. The life of this particular system is expected to be between 10 to 15 years. This effectively nullifies the Government Officials bribe income i.e. JDA / JMC / PWD  which they earn from contractor on the Asphalt repair jobs and re-carpeting  of the roads that have to be done twice a year. The "White Topping" technology demonstration has put a grave threat to the officer's earnings and  thus there is a lobby against the technology that ultimately benefits the common man. I don't know about the Lokpal bill's success, but corruption is so ingrained in our psyche that it will be a miracle to get the society at large, free from it. June 12, 2011 It is in news papers today, the building that caught fire day before yesterday, in the inner city area of Jaipur was razed down. The papers are reporting that the body of the father whose daughter of 14 yrs, who also died was recovered after 36 hours. There was this para about a local resident of that area who was a brave heart in the rescue operations in the unfortunate incident. Today papers show a photo and news that JMC and the mayor forming a committee about identifying the hazardous operations going on in the residential areas.( so cliched) But there is no news at all about any kind of action, any case being registered by the Police/Media/Civil groups on the corrupt officials of the JDA/JMC/SSI/ and other authorities who did allow the risky business to continue in that building for all these years. Now that Anna movement has cooled off. Just want to ask one questions to all those people who were so very enthusiastic for the morchas and for the Singing and the " I am anna" Caps and stickers and feel good stuff, like moving youtube videos and other stuff. Please tell me are you guys ready and patient enough and true enough to get the challan done when you are at fault? Are you ready to wait for your turn when applying for Drivers License and not involve a tout ? Are your  ready to wait it out and not pay the bribes?
